Robert M. Nelson, Attorney
Bob Nelson
Bob attended the University of Notre Dame Law School, and attained his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve School of Law. While he was in school, he was Note Editor for the Case Western Reserve Law Review. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from John Carroll University. Bob was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, where he graduated from Youngstown Ursuline High School.
Upon graduation from law school, Bob joined the Cleveland law firm then known as Stotter, Familo, Cavitch, Elden, and Durkin. Bob became a partner in the successor firm and spent many years in management of the firm. He left after more than 40 years to form his current sole practice in Avon Lake, Ohio in March 2013.
Bob is a member of the Order of the Coif, an honor society for lawyers who graduate in the top ten percent of their class, and is a member of the Ohio State, Lorain County, and Metropolitan Bar Associations. He also has been designated the highest AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell which is a nationally recognized lawyer publication.
Bob lives in Amherst, Ohio, Brownhelm Township, has three adult children and is the proud grandparent of five grandchildren.

Stephanie L. Maricic
Stephanie has been a legal secretary for over 35 years. She has worked in several law offices in the Cleveland, Ohio area specializing in personal injury, litigation, corporate, estate planning, and probate.
Stephanie received her Associate’s Degree from Cuyahoga Community College. She has lived in Northeast Ohio for most of her life and is married with three children.
Stephanie worked with Bob at the Cleveland, Ohio law firm of Cavitch, Familo & Durkin from 1987 to 2001 when she left the firm to raise her family. She rejoined Bob in March of 2013 and helped to launch his new practice in Avon Lake, Ohio.
Legal Secretary & Bookkeeper
Joan Mascol
Joan Mascol is a life-long resident of the Cleveland, Ohio area. Joan was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio, graduated from Lakewood High School and now resides in North Olmsted with her husband, Bob.
She is the mother of daughter, Susie. Joan started her career shortly after graduation with her first position as a secretary with Travelers Insurance Company and later worked for approximately fifteen (15) years with Addressograph Multigraph in Euclid and later in Warrensville Heights. In 1977, Joan joined the Cleveland law firm then known as Stotter, Familo, Cavitch, Elden & Durkin as a legal secretary. A few years later, she became the bookkeeper at the firm and finished her career there in that position, retiring from the successor firm in 2014.
Joan helped Bob Nelson start his practice in April of 2013 and then became the bookkeeper (and part-time legal secretary) for Bob in May, 2014.
